Tanishq launches a different edition of gold coins to commemorate Carnatic music singer, M.S. Subbulakshmi

April 16 2012, Chennai –Paying tribute to the legendary Carnatic singer M.S. Subbulakshmi, Tanishq, India’s largest and most preferred jewellery brand, unveiled a limited edition of engraved gold coins for its consumers. Launched by acclaimed Carnatic classical vocalists Dr. M Balamuralikrishna and Sudha Ragunathan within the presence of Carnatic music singer Ashok Ramani, to further her causes, we're contributing her favored charities – the Cancer Institute and the TAG-VHS Diabetes Research Centre, both based out of Chennai.

The gold coins, weighing 2gms, 4gms and 8gms and engraved with a picture of M.S.Subbulakshmi, might be available across all Tanishq stores in Tamil Nadu and in select showrooms in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.Along with the acquisition of a gold coin, customers also get a book of memoirs that captures significant landmarks of the legend’s life and provides readers an insight into her musical journey.
