A unique idea that might have been a smooth ride but goes bumpy because the director added some not-so-required commercial elements. What might have been a very good story on relationships was shattered due to the screenplay.Story:Sid (R. Madhavan), a divorcee himself facilitates divorces. He breaks painful and regretted relationships. He stumbles upon Sonali (Bipasha Basu) who thinks that divorces come up with another chance of having out of an unwanted relationship and finding your true soul-mate. What’s next? The 2 join hands and become ‘Jodi Breakers’.Now, the predicted twist is that the 2 will fall in love but there's another twist that for his personal interest Sid breaks a Jodi that was that was not was not meant to be separated.
Analysis:Bipasha and Madhavan do make an unusual Jodi and the concept that of the film too was unusual however the screenplay and a few un-required elements added to it steal the essence and the movie is still just a regular one.
Performances:R Madhavan sure can act but he thinks of himself as Shah Rukh Khan, just a bit little bit of modesty added, and he can sure go a ways. Also, he has to do something together with his loks and styling. Bipasha Basu was extremely sweet which failed to really suit her. Though she looked extremely stylish, her performance was not much impactful. Omi Vaidya’s track was not required and was detterent within the flow of the film. He was his usual self and from time to time irritating. Milind Soman and Dippannita Sharma portrayed class and act well. Mrinalini Sharma can’t act. She was pretty irritating too. Helen was a nice addition though her baritone in some serious scene was a little bit amusing. Tarana as Madhavan’s friend was good and the remainder of the supporting cast was decent.
Technicalities:As the elemental script was ok for the film to be called a fair entertainer, the director lost it completely on the screenplay. Some scenes added were only seemed made-up and an afterthought. The cinematography made Greece look extremely beautiful. The music is rather hummable and soothing. Few dialogues and camera angles were interesting, but overall the film continues to be a regular entertainer and only a one time watch.
Plus Points:- Basic Plot- Bips and Madhavan
Minus Points:- Unrequired silly elements added
Final Word: AN EXCELLENT movie that is still to be only a one-time watch.
