Siddharth vying for a national award?

Looks like cinematographer Siddharth is a contented man at the present time. He's looking ahead to his upcoming period flick Aravaan that have been shot fully within the digital format with a high-end Red One camera.Vasanthabalan, known for his sensitive themes, directs the movie, that's set within the 18th century.

Talking in regards to the need for using Red One, Siddharth says, “Vasanthabalan’s script had an enormous canvas and just a camera like Red You can still capture the grandeur on screen.

Secondly, except Aadhi, Pasupathy and some others, there are about hundred newcomers cast within the film.

They were all facing the camera for the primary time of their life. With an ordinary camera, we'd have ended up wasting numerous film reels.” Siddharth, a former assistant to Bollywood biggie Govind Nihalani, says that a large action block that looks within the pre-interval element of the movie and which was canned in Andhra after shooting for seven days, was a most difficult and challenging one.

Another highlight of Siddharth’s cinematography is that he has shot a number of the film in natural light to get that raw feel.

“The flashback portions were shot in Kuttralam.” On his friendship with Nayanthara when he was a part of her film Yaaradi Nee Mohini, he says, “She is an overly warm person. She was so pleased with my work and presented me an iPod.”

Aravaan was sent to the National Award committee to be included within the 2011-released category.
